We aren’t Goldilocks, but we will get it “just right.”
Our move into the new Canopy Studio building has been delayed due to unexpected structural engineering revisions during the final rigging design process. As the project progressed from architectural drawings to structural engineering, the required support for our aerial rigging system was initially underestimated and then significantly overestimated. We are still working closely with our architects, engineers, and contractors to determine the appropriate structural requirements for each rigging point and to zone rigging points accordingly.
Rather than compromise the functionality of the space, we are taking the time to ensure the building is both safe and capable of supporting Canopy’s long-term programming. While this has extended our construction timeline, we remain committed to creating a facility that will serve our community for decades to come, and we look forward to sharing an updated opening timeline as soon as it is confirmed.

Demolition on the existing structure has begun! The sheet metal on the exterior is planned to be re-used at a farm. Demo should be completed in early March.
