Aerial Dance in Harness

Pre-reqs: Any movement practice at any level
Glide, spin, hover and swing your way into new movement possibilities in this unique and minimalist apparatus! In this workshop you will learn about safety practices, finding your groove, low-flow movement and aerial exploration at inversion height with plenty of opportunities for creativity. Bring your sense of adventure, play and personality! Important
Student Info
1. Please wear high waisted pants, a leotard/unitard or any clothing that covers your torso, waist and thighs. This is to protect your skin.
2. Harnesses can feel uncomfortable after a while, feel free to bring additional layers for your lower half.
3. Avoid eating a large meal or drinking acidic beverages right before/during the workshop. This can lead to nausea. You can snack throughout the workshop.
Tethered, Collaborative Dance in Harness

Pre-reqs: Any movement practice at any level, previous experience in harness recommended.
We connect via rope, momentum, tension, and contact to explore the many ways to create movement in small groups and in partnership. This includes grounded vs aerial movement, small group dynamics, sharing weight and the crowd favorite skill known as “the body walk”. Exploration, communication, and consent will all play main roles throughout our time together.

2. This workshop is focused around group dynamics and partnering, many of the skills being offered rely on close proximity to other people and can include physical contact (ie, holding forearms, leaning against each other etc.). Feel free to reach out to Emily with any needs or questions.
