Upcoming Workshops

The Aging Aerialist
Thursday, October 10
6:00 pm
at The Cotton Press – 149 Oneta Street

This presentation is focused on how to support active students and staff who are aging alongside their aerial learning and teaching. We will include experiential reporting, both video and summarized written interviews, from students and teachers, many of whom are in their 40s, 50s, 60s, or older. We will include general information from advanced students who are also physicians, one of whom specializes in trans medicine, so we can include helpful information for aging folks of all genders. We will share what we see in our studio with implications for both growing business and encouraging/supporting aging aerialists – from our B52s class (you have to be 53 or older to be in it!), to our teachers in their 60s, performing students in their 70s, and our recreational students in their 80s. We can talk about perimenopause, menopause, and postmenopause! We will get into it all and have time for questions at the end.

Hurricane Helene Relief Fundraiser Workshop

Saturday, October 12
6:00 pm
90 minutes
$50

We are all looking for ways we can help those that have been impacted by Hurricane Helene. 100% of registration fees for this workshop will go to BeLoved Asheville, a non-profit that has worked tirelessly since day 1 to distribute food, clothing, shelter, and counseling services to those impacted by the hurricane in WNC.

The workshop will focus on tried and true Canopy pathways and some other noodles from Ann’s brain all on dance trapeze.

Recommended to be at the intermediate level; however, to maximize the amount we are able to donate, any level is welcome, and we will have teachers on hand to differentiate levels. Please reach out to outreach@canopystudio.org if you would like to attend but unable to pay the full registration fee.
