Deb began taking classes at Canopy in 2007 and quickly found her new passion. In 2015 Deb created and directed the summer fundraiser show, “Splash,” which now continues on as a summer student showcase. After working with the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Georgia (OLLI), Deb advocated for the founding of a class specific to students of a certain age. The Over-B52s class was born – an homage to the Athens band, The B52s – and is a class for anyone over the age of 52 to come and learn the art of dance trapeze. Deb also utilizes the aerial arts in her work with adults and children with special needs.
