Aerial Arts are for Everyone
Regardless of physical ability, age, ability to pay, background, or numerous other barriers, we deeply believe that the aerial arts are for everyone. We use aerial arts as a way to build confidence, self-esteem, happiness, and creativity…and much more!
Giving Tuesday donations will go directly towards our outreach program, which spans scholarships, financial aid, low-cost or free field trips for area school children, community events, and performing arts. No amount is too small.
$25 pays for one class for a financial aid student
$150 provides a 1:1 instructor for a full 10-week session
$250 provides an adapted pe field trip for one 20-person class
$1,000 provides a full year of private lessons for 1 student

In 2025, Canopy awarded more than $89,000 in scholarships and financial aid. This equates to 110 private lessons and almost 80 students receiving no-cost or low-cost tuition for class or camp registration per session. Based on a continual upward trend in scholarship and financial aid requests, we anticipate an even larger need for scholarships in 2026.

My children are forever changed because of Canopy. As two special needs kids who came from a hard place, navigating the world can be challenging and exhausting. Canopy gives them a soft place to land. The teachers are so kind and patient and the skills my girls learn, not only strengthen them physically, but emotionally and mentally as well.
Our world is a tough place. Canopy teaches our children how to believe in themselves, take risks, push through adversity and trust others.

Through donations and other fundraising initiatives, Canopy is able to offer low-cost and no-cost field trips to area public schools and other community groups.
Thanks to the AthFest Educates grant, 2024-2025 saw the third full year of the Clarke County School District Adapted PE field trips, where Canopy served more than 323 students in elementary, middle, and high school! Through generous donations, we also welcomed close to an additional 300 students from the self-contained classrooms from schools in Oconee, Greene, Madison, Jackson, and Barrow Counties.

Our special education class had the incredible opportunity to participate in an adapted aerial class at Canopy this April, and it was truly an unforgettable experience! From the moment we arrived, the staff made every student feel welcomed, supported, and capable. The instructors took the time to adapt each movement and activity so that all of our students could participate meaningfully, regardless of ability level.
It was amazing to watch our students’ faces light up as they tried something completely new. They were encouraged, celebrated, and challenged in ways that built not only physical strength and coordination, but also confidence and joy. The Canopy team created an environment that was inclusive, empowering, and full of positivity.
We are so grateful for this experience and for the care and creativity your team put into making it accessible for everyone. Our students are still talking about how much fun they had! We can’t wait to return and highly recommend Canopy’s adapted aerial program to any school or group looking for an inspiring and inclusive opportunity.

From performance to instruction, Canopy took the outdoor rig to 20 community events, from an elementary school’s fine arts night to a community fall festival and everything in between. This is an important tool to breaking down access to aerial arts and educating the community on our programs, including scholarships.

Canopy offers both ticketed and donation-based performances through out the year, giving opportunities to children, teens, and adults to perform and allowing audiences to attend performances regardless of their ability to pay. Approximately $1000 in complimentary tickets were given to scholarship students to attend in-studio ticketed shows, while 250 people were able to attend free Open Mic Night performances. We estimate 21,000 people were exposed to aerial dance performance through the many community events attended.
