· Giving Tuesday is on Tuesday, November 28 ·

This Giving Tuesday we have set a goal of $2,000. The great news is we already have a donor that will match donations up to $1,000, so we are halfway there! Giving Tuesday donations will go directly towards our outreach program, which spans scholarships, financial aid, low-cost or free field trips for area school children, and community performances. You don’t have to wait until Giving Tuesday to donate to count towards this total today using the link in our profile!

We use aerial arts as a way to build confidence, self-esteem, happiness, and creativity…and much more! Canopy is a place to be a part of a community, to learn to work in a group, and to be supportive of those around you – and that support is reciprocated.  Using aerial arts isn’t a typical way to grow these things. When we swing and spin, joy is instantaneous. When we do hard and scary things, we boost confidence and trust – trust in ourselves and trust in others. When we fail but continue to try, we strengthen self-determination and resilience.

· Cultivating a Safe Space for Creation & Collaboration ·
We hosted 17 shows this year, offering more than 35 chances for our community to witness the resiliency, creativity, and commitment to aerial arts our students, instructors, and Repertory Company display.

· Aerial Arts is for Everybody ·
This is a core belief at Canopy - that everyone regardless of background should have access to aerial arts. Outreach scholarships are awarded to students that have documented disabilities, chronic medical conditions, or are referred to us by a partner organization.

· Eliminating Financial Burden to Increase Access ·
For our students, partial or full aid make it possible to attend classes. Our goal is to continue to identify barriers to entry and make it easier for students to apply for help and afford to take classes at Canopy.

· Exposure to Aerial Arts ·
We are able to offer low-cost and no-cost field trips to area community groups including public schools, adapted curriculum programs, and other organizations.
· Taking Sweat & Glitter Outside the Studio ·
Taking the portable rig and pole, staff and student performers, and lots of sparkle out into the community is a key component of outreach. These events not only provide additional performance opportunities to our instructors and students, but they also expose groups to aerial arts that may have otherwise never had the opportunity.
